Trinity Church is active in offering help to the local and global community through its missions ministry.
The on-going projects that the church supports are:
Food Pantry
It is open from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Lutke Room on the last Thursday of the month. If we find we need to distribute food more frequently, we will announce this in the newsletter and in church bulletins and by posting a sign in front of the church. We will also publish suggestions in the church bulletin for replenishing food supplies as needs arise.
The Lutke Room can be accessed by the door in Fellowship Hall closest to the church. People interested in obtaining food donations will need to fill out a simple form and show identification. We need two people to register people for the pantry and two people to assemble bags of food. If you would like to help or need more information, please call Marcia Grant at 223-5489.
A healtfelt "thank you" is due all those who have so generously supported this effort with their enthusiastic assistance and donations of food. It is greatly appreciated!
Miguel Lopez
Trinity Church is sponsoring a child, Miguel Lopez, through Partners in Development. Miguel lives in
Guatemala and is eight years old. Our sponsorship helps send Miguel to a special school for children with epilepsy so that he can receive speech and physical therapy. He will also receive dental care and sneakers. Funds are collected during coffee hour in fellowship hall – just drop your coins or dollar bills in the jar.

Red Bird
Mission
Campbell Soup Labels are collected throughout the year to support the Red Bird Mission. Red Bird Mission is a ministry in
Appalachia. The Mission runs a medical clinic and a school, in addition to numerous programs in health, housing and community outreach. Every year they collect over 1.5 million labels. The labels have helped them to save $475,000 in the purchase of resources, including vans. Labels can be deposited in a box in Fellowship Hall.
Hillcrest House
Hillcrest House, the local homeless shelter, continues to be a community need. A hearty meal for 12 is prepared by a team of church members. Two volunteers serve the meal at Hillcrest House, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. The first Sunday of every month is our long-standing commitment. Members of the congregation also donate men’s and women’s pajamas, robes, slippers, towels, blankets, toiletries, disposable razors, toothbrushes, combs, and brushes. Donations can be left in the Fellowship Hall.
The seasonal projects the church supports are:
Heifer Project
In the fall, our church collects funds for Heifer Project. In the past, we have provided funds for rabbits, bees, and llamas. Heifer provides livestock and training to families. The livestock is a source of nutrition and income to help families escape hunger and poverty. Heifer Project is also focusing on families affected by AIDS.
CROP Hunger Walk
Every year, our church participates in CROP Walk to raise funds to fight hunger. We walk to remember the millions of people who must walk every day for food, for water, to escape violence, to seek shelte
r, to find employment, to farm, and to survive. Last year, the walk we participated in, raised the most funds in all of Metropolitan New York.
